APRIL 11, 1689:
Shortly after the Dutch King William III (better known as William of Orange) was proclaimed King Of England, Ireland and Scotland, he made gin. Gin is a traditionally Dutch drink, but popular with the British people.
Gin 1689 is a gin that fuses English and Dutch culture together, produced by one of Holland’s oldest distillers and based on a 350 year old recipe.
In 2019 the Queen Mary Edition was launched. This pink gin by 1689 is named after the wife of King William of Orange the Third.
